Boyup Brook Country Music Festival, Ute & Truck Muster - February
The Boyup Brook Country Music Festival is Western Australia’s premier Country Music Festival. Five big days of music, fun and laughter. The Perth Caravan and camping show is a show that the whole family will enjoy, so come along to the Claremont Showgrounds to plan your next adventure. Whether you are an experienced traveler, looking to get into the outdoor lifestyle or browsing for new products this show has something to offer everyone!
A visit to the Perth Caravan and Camping show gives you the opportunity to find out how best to experience caravan and camping. There are lots of free seminars and demonstrations throughout each day to make your visit an enjoyable and fun day out.
The 2015 Perth Show has a huge focus on entertaining visitors. There is a vehicle recovery using a snatch strap and getting out of a bog with the car or camper trailer demonstrations, reversing lessons, cooking demonstrations and a whole variety of seminars from industry experts.
With free entry for children under 16* and loads of free fun kids activities on Saturday and Sunday, rides and more there’s no way the kids will be bored, even the teenagers!
There will be live entertainment and performances around the showground.

Local pastoralists and many visitors get together and have an action packed weekend at the Rawlinna Nullarbor Muster, usually held mid April or thereabouts. The program consists of novelty and gymkhana events, barrell racing, bull riding, skeet shoot, children's races and a ute muster.

The Zest Festival in Kalbarri is bringing culture, community and history together to create an extraordinary experience in the Mid-West of Western Australia. It is a five year event that will be the cultural pulse that will take Kalbarri and nearby communities up to the 400th anniversary of the landing by Dirk Hartog in 2016. The Ningaloo Whaleshark Festival highlights the community’s relationship with the yearly visitation of the whale shark.

This famous event has been held annually in July since 1893, it attracts an ever increasing crowd of between 2000-3000 thousand people. With a track surrounded by spinifex, red hills and a dusty two up ring the Pilbara comes together with miners, town folk, families, travellers from across the world and all the crew from Pilbara Stations near and far. The early days of racing were supported by district bred horses and a two day meeting was held until the early 70's when professional jockeys and registered race horses came into being.
The Marble Bar Races Ball is held on the Friday night as a warm up for a great day of racing. It is a formal event, and dressing to the theme strongly recommended.

Newman Campdraft and Rodeo Association, also known to locals as NCDARA, was established in 1996 and held its first rodeo in 1998. The Robe River Rodeo Inc. prides itself on producing year after year a great event for families, and for the cowboys and cowgirls of the Pilbara and beyond – a spectacular event with an emphasis on competition and fun. The Committee’s affiliation with the ABCRA puts a further emphasis on the sportsmanship and competition of its Rodeo events, whilst maintaining its family appeal for spectators and competitors. And now a 'points rodeo' - the new status means that competitors will earn ‘points’ for winning a place in an event, which will go towards a National Points Scoring System.
At the rodeo grounds with your admission fee (which is very reasonable) you get free non-powered camping area, hot showers and toilets on site, breakfast available on the weekend, hot and cold food stalls and Licensed bar facilities – NO BYO alcohol. There are also various stalls and amusements for kids and live entertainment at night.

Mud Crab Races - June
Here's a good Aussie event. You may consider an afternoon well spent in your best thongs on the sprawling lawns at the Mary Island Fishing Club in Derby. Then again you may take it seriously and have the finest racing mud crab around. Head to Derby in May. Crabs to be in the Club by 2.30pm; racing starts at 4.00.

Derby Boab Festival - July
Western Australia’s longest running town festival celebrates the West Kimberley lifestyle. Starting with a Mardi Gras, the two week events finished with a closing concert on Sunday. From the high spirited and colourful waking of Sammy the Dragon, the festivals Chinese Dragon, after his yearlong slumber; across ten days of festivity, Broome’s Shinju Matsuri is an experience like no other. Shinju Matsuri, which translates from Japanese as ‘Festival of the Pearl’ began in 1970 when local community leaders wanted to best mark several of the town’s celebrations that occurred close together, including the Japanese Obon, Malaysian Merdeka the Chinese Hang Seng at the end of Broome's pearl harvest. For well over 40 years the festival is held every year around August or September's full moon and spring tides to coincide with the beautiful natural phenomenon know as ‘Staircase to the Moon’. Broome comes to life through festivities that showcase traditional and contemporary talents that celebrate its unique culture, history and diversity.

The Garnduwa Festival, in Fitzroy Crossing, has become the pre-eminent Indigenous festival of its type in WA. Upwards of 5000 people attend over the five days, held in the middle of October each year. As part of the festival, the remote communities football and athletics championship attracts up to 20 teams from remote communities throughout the Kimberley, Pilbara and NT. In conjunction with football there will be a wide ranging athletics competition.
