You'd better saddle up quick to get to this action weekend out west. The Walgett Rodeo boasts an impressive range of equine events and is run in August. Events include the explosive bull riding, spectacular steer wrestling, ladies barrel racing, a campdraft, gymkhana, and for the kids a junior rodeo and poddy riding competition, along with a lot more. That evening a band kicks off for a night of dancing and frivolity. There is a full bar and you can ‘tuck into’ some good old country hospitality with a tasty BBQ.
